HERE IS A FREE BIBLE STUDY ON ZEPHANIAH FOR YOUR YOUTH GROUP!

This free Bible study on Zephaniah studies Zephaniah’s prophecy for Israel to teach us how repentance leads to restoration.

HERE IS HOW THIS FREE BIBLE STUDY ON ZEPHANIAH BREAKS DOWN:
Repentance leads to restoration

The writings of Zephaniah, a complex Old Testament prophet, contain a difficult narrative. God’s appointed prophet had to deliver a grey and gloomy message to a distressed nation. Most of Zephaniah’s prophecies predict heart-wrenching problems for humankind. God was going to judge the nations — including Israel.

If the first two chapters of Zephaniah are like a bleak winter season, the last chapter is like the sun breaking out from behind the clouds. His words warm you up as he declares that God will delight in His people. God will not rebuke them. He will rejoice over His nation with singing and gladness. How wonderful is that?

What changed? Repentance. God’s people heard His warnings, let their idols shatter, and turned back to God. This created a ripple effect of restoration over the entire nation. This passage is a beautiful explanation of God’s mercy. God’s people failed, but God forgave. God’s people rebelled, but God restored them.
Scripture: Zephaniah 1:2-3; 3:14-17
