This free 4-part youth series on 1 Corinthians introduces four problems that Paul saw in the Corinthian church, along with God-honoring solutions that we can continue to learn from today.
The Apostle Paul helped plant the Corinthian church early in his missionary career, so he deeply cared for the believers in Corinth. The Christians in Corinth were fighting, so the Apostle Paul stepped in. Since he cared, he gave them what they needed: tough love in the form of guidance. Through his letters to the Corinthians, Paul introduced them to a format designed for spiritual growth—identifying the problem, offering a solution, and promising a blessing.
Throughout our study, you might think the Corinthian church’s problem was always the same: they were divided. However, the division was just a symptom. Over the next four sessions, we are going to look at these in detail. Here is a breakdown of all the problems that triggered division in Corinth:
Session 1: They cared more about following people than Jesus.
Session 2: They cared more about pursuing pleasure than holiness.
Session 3: They cared more about their freedom than their friends.
Session 4: They cared more about how they looked than how they loved.
