Here is a free Thanksgiving sermon series for your church!
This free Thanksgiving sermon series will teach you how to cultivate a heart of gratitude that changes how you see God, others, and every circumstance.
This is how the Thanksgiving sermon series breaks down:
PART 1: GIVE THANKS TO THE LORD
Most of us are taught from an early age to say, “Please” and “Thank you.” It’s just common courtesy. However, thanking our unseen God in heaven is often more of a challenge. But embedded within salvation history and scriptures like the Psalms is a charge to give thanks to God for everything. Why? Because through his steadfast love, God has given us everything. Giving thanks to the Lord might be one of the least talked about but most important practices for sustaining our faith in God and being a Christian.
Scripture: Psalm 136:1, 3-6, 13-16, 23-26
PART 2: I THANK GOD FOR YOU!
The courtesy of expressing gratitude and thanks when someone does something nice is a
given. But what about when they don’t deserve our thanks? This message explores the way the Apostle Paul offered thanks for others. Paul didn’t just thank others. He thanked God for others. And that made all the difference. As an act of grace, Paul was able to tell others, “Thanks for everything!” Not because they were faithful. But because God was.
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 1:4-9
PART 3: THANKSGIVING CELEBRATION
For many, Thanksgiving is a holiday that celebrates food, family, and fun. But contrary to the reputation Christians too often have, God wants us to celebrate and have fun, too. God built moments of celebration into the life of His people—times of remembrance, thanksgiving, and joy. Each feast and gathering was a confession of faith that even when life feels dark, God’s goodness still gives us reason to celebrate.
Scripture: Nehemiah 8:9-10
