The book of Revelation is unlike any other book in the New Testament. Similar to a few Old Testament prophets like Daniel and Ezekiel, Revelation doesn’t report on the past. Instead, it foresees the future. The Apostle John shares prophetic visions to uncover what that future looks like. John’s prophecies discuss the imminent battle between God and Satan, good and evil, and heaven and hell. Visions of monsters, beasts, wars, and catastrophe pack every page. Interestingly, they’re not designed to be deciphered like a prophetic puzzle. Revelation offers us so much more than that. It assures us that victory belongs to the Lord.
