Here is a free Bible study for New Christians!
Your life changes the second you become a Christian. By accepting Jesus as your Savior, you become part of the family of God. Your eternity looks different because you will now get to spend forever in Heaven with Jesus when your time on earth ends. Accepting Jesus is the most important decision of your life, which is why people spend so much time talking about it. But it’s important to realize that becoming a Christian is just the beginning of your faith journey.
This is how this free Bible Study for new Christians breaks down:
Part 1: Salvation
Salvation is an overflow of God’s generosity and grace. It’s a free gift. You don’t have to earn it or buy it; you just accept it. You don’t have to dress a certain way, memorize a specific prayer, or attend a religious festival. It’s free. Author Steve Lawson explained, “salvation is not a reward for the righteous, rather it’s a gift for the guilty.”
Scripture: Colossians 1:21-22
Part 2: Baptism
People often think that sin merely makes us bad. However, the Bible teaches that sin makes us dead (Rom 6:23). People don’t just need better behavior; they need a savior. Without Jesus, you are dead. However, here’s some really good news. God is in the business of bringing the dead back to life. That includes you. God can bring new life to your relationships, emotions, and spiritual life. It all starts when He performs a spiritual resurrection.
Scripture: Colossians 2:12
Part 3: Next Steps
No matter how long you’ve been following Jesus, you have a next step that you can take to continue growing closer to him. As you keep nurturing your relationship with God, you will discover that “new self” Paul was talking about. Over time, as you learn more about who God is, you will become more and more like him. The more you know, the more you can grow.
Scripture: Colossians 3:5-10
Part 4: Sharing your New-found Freedom
Once you accept your freedom in Christ and allow him to release you from your internal struggles, there is a weight lifted off your shoulders. Jesus knew this new way of life would be so much better for you that he was willing to die for it. Accept God’s grace and let yourself be released from whatever bondage you’re experiencing. Then, share this new, better way of life with others.
Scripture: Colossians 4:2-6
