PART 1: HE CAN CROSS OVER

After forty years in the wilderness, Israel finally reaches the Promised Land—only to be stopped by a flooded river with no bridge and no solution. Like us, they were stuck between where they were and where God was calling them. But when they trusted God’s presence and stepped forward, he stopped the water and made a way. Joshua 3 shows us that we don’t cross life’s impossible rivers by trying harder. When we can’t, he can.

PART 2: HE CAN BREAK THROUGH

After finally entering the Promised Land, Israel is immediately stopped by the towering walls of Jericho that seem impossible to defeat. No weapons or strategy could bring them down. But when they trusted God’s unexpected plan and obeyed, the walls collapsed. Joshua 6 reminds us that breakthrough doesn’t come from our strength but from God’s power. When we can’t, he can.

PART 3: HE CAN MAKE CLEAN

After incredible victories, Israel suddenly faces shocking defeat because of hidden sin in the camp. What looked like success on the outside was quietly unraveling underneath. When Achan’s secret was brought into the light, God dealt with the sin and restored his people. Joshua 7 reminds us that what we hide will eventually harm us—but through Jesus, exposure leads to cleansing and healing. When we can’t overcome our shame, he can.

PART 4: HE CAN KEEP FIGHTING

Even after powerful moments where God clearly showed up, Israel still faced years of long, exhausting battles. God stopped the sun and fought for them, but the war carried on. Joshua 10–11 shows us that following God doesn’t mean the struggle disappears — it means he sustains us through it. When we’re too tired to keep fighting, he can.
