Part 1: We Found Love in a Hopeless Place

Hosea was asked to paint a picture of God’s relationship with His people by marrying an unfaithful bride. Ultimately, His life was a metaphor for our divine, but sometimes dysfunctional, relationship with God. This love story is our love story. In chapter 1, we learn that we are prone to wander, but God pursues us. We become irrational, but God stays steady. We try to run from God, but his grace always catches up.

Part 2: Bad Romance

In chapter three, we discover that Gomer is not even living with Hosea anymore. It appears as though she packed up and moved out. Every day was a different battle, but Hosea fought hard and pressed forward. When we look at the story of Hosea, we see God’s faithfulness in the midst of our failures.

Part 3: It’s a Nice Day for a White Wedding

As we conclude our series on Hosea, we are actually going to jump ahead to the end of the Bible. Why? Because Hosea’s marriage story is a foreshadowing of the greatest wedding of all time. No, we are not talking about a Kardashian. We are talking about Christ. In this message, we will discuss another one-sided relationship in scripture by examining the marriage between Jesus and His Church.
